The Jones High School Musical Theater Department is working hard behind the scenes for their next big production, West Side Story. The classic tale of Romeo and Juliet is retold in this 1950s setting, as the Sharks and Jets battle for turf in the rough streets of New York City. The performance is scheduled for Thursday, May 9th, at 6 pm in the Jones High School Commons.
There are 23 students participating in the production, dedicating over 16-weeks to prepare for the play. The show is led by Peggy Dodd as student director. State award wining soloists will take the lead, with Mark Williams as Tony and Sarah Grant as Maria.
Tickets are $5 if purchased in advance, and $6 if purchased at the door. Advanced ticket purchases can be made at the Jones High School front office.
