Fourteen Jones High School Key Club students went to the 70th annual Texas-Oklahoma Key Club District Convention in Dallas. They left on a bus Thursday, April 25th and returned Sunday, April 28th.
While there, Peggy Dodd and Hannah Vaught ran for district positions. They both individually spoke in front of 900+ people. Though they did not get in the office, everyone in their club is still extremely proud of them.
The club itself won a number of awards including; the district project patch, K-Dollars Recognition, 1st place in the theme contest, and they made it to number 21 in the Top 25 Key Clubs (out of 300+ clubs). Their 2017-18 and 2018-19 President, Ty Aldridge, was also awarded a $1,000 scholarship. Altogether, Jones Key Club had an eventful and fun weekend.
