The Lady Longhorn softball team fell short this week as they went on the road to play Chandler and Washington. As the season comes to a close, Jones has a chance to finish the season on a high note with Harrah and Luther coming up.
Not having the bats to back themselves up, they played a defensively sound game at Chandler. The Lady Longhorns kept up their hopes when the game was 1-0, but with 2 costly errors Chandler was able to take the game 3-0.
The Lady Longhorns struggled on the field and in the batter’s box. With no exceptional plays, they lost by a devastating 11-0. Trying her best, Jaelen Maples had a heads up play at shortstop for the 6-2 put out. Caley, their senior star player, went 2 for 3 a first bat double off the left center wall.
With two games left in the regular season before the playoffs, the Lady Longhorns have a chance to finish the season on a high note as they play Harrah on Monday and Luther on Tuesday.
