The Jones Longhorns (3-1) host district rival Meeker in a Homecoming showdown this Friday night at Tim Wallace Memorial Stadium at 7:00. Both teams are coming in to the contest 1-0 in district play. The Longhorns enter the game after a 42-29 victory on the road at Chandler last week. The Bulldogs were victorious 68-26 against Kellyville their last time on the field.

Coach Dave Martin was complementary of the Bulldogs, especially their experience on the offensive side of the ball. “Their running back has been a three-year starter. A big, strong kid. Their Quarterback has been a four-year starter….We’ll need to contain them.” While the Bulldogs will pose a significant threat, Coach Martin feels the key to the game will be “getting turnovers and stopping the run game.”

The Longhorns will also bring in plenty of offensive firepower, with the Horns scoring more than 40 points in 3 of the last 4 games. Quarterback Carson May has and his talented group of receivers along with the strong running of Korbin Cox give the Longhorns the ability to control the ball and set the pace.
The clash between these two high-powered offences will take place at 7:00.
