The town of Jones gathered in the square at the intersection of State and Main to wish their Longhorns well as they made their way to the State Tournament. In the midst of the excitement, Mayor Ray Poland recognized the Girls Basketball team for their outstanding efforts this season, and officially declared this week “Jones High School Lady Longhorns Week” in Jones, OK. Head Coach Jenni Holbrook received the proclamation on behalf of the Town, as the crowd cheered in approval of this declaration.
Unfortunately, after the team loaded onto the bus to make their way to the State Fairgrounds, OSSAA sent out a message stating that the State Tournament will be postponed until further notice. We will keep you updated on the rescheduled games, once we know more. Despite this setback, it is certainly clear that our community is proud of the accomplishments of these girls.
