The Jones Journal Celebrates 1 Year

We are so excited to celebrate our 1-year blog-iversary for The Jones Journal. What a privileged it is to capture the stories of our community!

As we look back on the past year, we have celebrated BIG together, we have lost and grieved hard, and we have done our best to honor those who are doing outstanding work in our community. From our first article on Frosted Artisan Bakery, to the latest coverage on the high school basketball season, we seek to highlight our community and your accomplishments in every article. In the last year, we’ve added 17 contributors, written 158 articles, reached 886 followers on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram, and counted 35,743 views on our site. We are completely blown away by these numbers and your love for us!

We had several plans to celebrate this milestone with you, but new CDC recommendations have caused us to altered a few of them. However, we aren’t going to let a little social distancing keep us from celebrating with you. If you order take-out from Shuff’s any time today (Tuesday, March 24, 2020), you can receive a free slice of pie or a cookie (while supplies last). If you can’t make it into town today, check out our top stories from the past year. These 5 stories collectively received over 5,000 views.

A special thanks to all of our sponsors who have supported our vision for The Jones Journal and allowed us to have a local news outlet for our community:

  • BancFirst
  • Jones Public Schools
  • Jones Kiwanis Club
  • Wilson Sell’s OK
  • Lil’ Bit Western Lawn Care
  • Blue & Gold Sausage
  • Wilson’s Lawn
  • Sturdi Stitches
  • Jones Hardware and Lumber

We are looking forward to another amazing year! Thanks for celebrating this milestone with us.
