Kids Craft Corner: Recycled Plastic Flowers

Supplies

  • Clear plastic cups or plates
  • Markers
  • Scissors
  • Cookie sheet
  • Foil
  • Popsicle sticks
  • Hot glue gun
  • Vase (Starbucks Frappuccino bottle, terracotta pot, floral foam, or cardboard tube)

Steps

  1. Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Color in plastic cups/plates, filling in the entire surface area.
  3. Cut small slits in the sides of the plate, experimenting with different lengths.
  4. Line cookie sheet with foil, and place the flowers ontop. Melt in the oven for 2-3 minutes.
  5. Let the flowers cool and color in the popsicle sticks for the stems.
  6. Hot glue the stems to the back of the flowers.
  7. Display in a vase of your choosing.
