The Jones Kiwanis Club has been hard at work all summer long installing their latest contribution to Beatty Mulhausen Park. The local park is now home to a 9-hole disc golf course, available for the community to use year-round. To christen the new course, the Kiwanis Club is hosting the inaugural disc golf tournament on the second Saturday in October.

The tournament will be open to recreational players of all ages. They will divide the tournament into two age brackets, adult players age 16 and older, and youth players age 15 and younger. Even though the permanent course is only 9-holes, the tournament will be 18-holes, and participants will play the course twice.
The tournament will be October 10, 2020 with a flex start time. Participants are encouraged to come anytime between 9 am-4 pm to complete the 18-hole course. Awards and prizes for the tournament will be presented at 7 pm!
Early-bird registration is $35 if you pay before September 30, 2020. Registration goes up to $45 if you sign up between October 1st – October 9th, and it is $50 on the day of the tournament. You can register online here.
The first 50 adult players are guaranteed to receive a T-shirt, commemorative disc, and numbered bag-tag, and the first 25 youth players receive a starter bag with a driver, mid-range, putter, mini, and a numbered bag-tag. The tournament will help raise money for Jones Kiwanis Club to continue improving our community!
Also, one more exciting piece of information. The Jones Journal has a disc golf set to give away. The three piece set includes a driver, mid-range & putter. If you would like to be eligible to win, please like, share, and tag a friend in the comments on this article on one of our social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram). We will draw for the lucky winner on Friday at noon during the Jones Kiwanis Club meeting.
I’ve traveled all over OK and TX by bicycle to play, and now I have a home course!
