JHS Journalism: Longhorns Outwork Lions 27-15

On Friday the Longhorns played on the road in Chandler against the Lions. This was a big game for the Longhorns, being the second district game of the season. Jones played very well, hitting the Lions with a 27-15 win. Quarterback Carson May threw 346 yards with 22 completions, and 4 touchdowns. His preferred receiver for the game was Cadyn Karl, who ended the game with 8 receptions, 1 touchdown, and averaged 11 yards per catch.

On the defensive side, the line played an amazing game. The defense caused two interceptions which were picked off by Cadyn Carl and Kameron Sweat. The Longhorns were doing an outstanding job, only letting the Lions rush for 209 yards. Chandler attempted to run the ball 20 times, and only got 54 yards, averaging 2.7 yards per carry. At the end of the night the Longhorns outworked the Lions beating them 27-15.
