High Flying Longhorns Set for a Homecoming Matchup with Crossings Christian on Friday

The Jones Longhorns (4-1) will host the Crossings Christian Knights (1-2) Friday evening at at 7:00 at Tim Wallace Memorial Stadium in Jones. This will be the first meeting between the Longhorns and Knights on the gridiron as Crossings made the jump to 2A from Class A. The Knights are coming off an unscheduled bye week as their matchup with Star Spencer was canceled. The last time the Knights took the field they lost to Chandler 36-0.

The combination of an efficient offense and dominant defense has been a successful formula for the Longhorns this season. The offense is led by Junior Quarterback Carson May. Halfway though the season May has thrown from 1,350 yards and 13 Touchdowns to go with 353 yards and 6 Touchdowns on the ground. Cadyn Karl, Trey Dorrell, Elijah Reed and Emmet Murphy are each averaging over 50 yards per game.

On the defensive side of the ball the Longhorns have suffocated opposing teams, allowing on 15.8 points per game.

With Homecoming festivities kicking off at 6:30 the Jones Journal will start the broadcast early so our views can catch all of the Homecoming presentation.
