K-Kids Collect Socks for Homeless

The Jones Elementary K-Kids Club is hosting a sock drive for the community’s homeless. Last week, K-Kids members created posters to hang throughout the Jones Elementary School, requesting sock donations from their fellow students. New socks of all sizes can be donated. The students have a goal to collect 200 pairs of socks and deliver them to the City Rescue Mission. If they are successful in reaching their goal, they plan to celebrate with snow cones at their February meeting. The sock drive will last until January 29th.

Community members can get involved too. Donations can be dropped off at the following locations:

  • Jones Elementary School (Attention Mrs. Freeman)
  • BancFirst (Attention Liz Sullivan)
  • Rooster’s Cafe (Friday @ noon during the Jones Kiwanis Club Meeting)

K-Kids is the nation’s largest service organization for elementary school students, and Jones proudly boasts 20 students, grades 4th-5th, in our local club. K-Kids is an affiliate of the Jones Kiwanis Club, and our local K-Kids are lead by Dustin Wilson (Kiwanis Advisor), Mrs. Freeman and Ms. Wallace.
