The Jones Historical Society is hosting a spaghetti dinner on Saturday, May 29th from 5-7 pm at the I.O.O.F. Lodge. The cost is $6 for adults and $3 for children. All proceeds benenfit the historical society.
The Jones Historical Society operates a museum located at 145 NW 1st St, Jones, OK 73049. The funds raised at this dinner will help them to make repairs to the handicap ramp, create new displays, and cover the regular monthly expenses to operate the museum. The museum is open to the public by appointment and during the semi-monthly meetings.
In addition to operating the museum, the Jones Historical Society coordinates the annual Land Run at the C.G. Jones Farmstead. In conjunction with the Brookes family and Jones Elementary 3rd Grade Teachers, they ensure that 3rd grade students get a hands on history lesson. Read more about this event here.
The next meeting of the historical Society will be on June 17th at 7 pm. If you are interested in joining the Jones Historical Society, they will have applications available at the spaghetti dinner on Saturday.
