The Jones Longhorns hit the road tonight to take on the Meeker Bulldogs. In a game with massive playoff implications.
Storylines
Jones will leave Oklahoma County for the first time this regular season as the Longhorns will hit Highway 62 East to Lincoln County to take on the Bulldogs.
District Implications
If you missed our write-up of the District Scenarios it can be found below. No matter the outcome, Jones is locked for a 1st, 2nd or 3rd place finish. However, there are numerous scenarios. Quickest route to a district championship? Beat Meeker and have Crossings lose to Millwood.
History
This will be the seventh meeting between the two squads since 2006, with the Longhorns holding a 4-2 advantage. The last time the two teams met was a 41-14 Longhorn victory in 2019. The teams were supposed to meet in 2020, but COVID protocols canceled the game and instead the Longhorns hosted the Guthrie Blue Jays. Meeker’s last victory over Jones came in a 38-0 win back in 2009.
