For the third time in 357 days, Jones and Luther will meet on the gridiron. This time, just like it was just under a year ago will be in the OSSAA 2A Hight School Playoffs.
Storylines:
Luther finished second in District 2A-1 and was rewarded with a home game against their Hogback Rival Jones. After a slow start to the season, Luther has won 7 of their last 8 games.
Recent History
This will mark only the 8th meeting between the two squads since 2004. Jones holds a 6-1 advantage, including last years second round game which Jones won 50-20 and the contest on September 10 that the Longhorns won 50-12. The Lions haven’t had a victory in the series in over 17 years.
First Round Success
Over the last decade, Jones has been almost automatic in the first round of the playoffs. Jones has been 9-1 in the first round over the last ten years, with the only loss coming against Lone Grove in 2014.

Prediction
Jones will advance to the second round with a 50-16 victory over the Lions. A HUGE matchup with Washington looming next week.
