A group of kids gathered in the sanctuary at the First Baptist Church of Jones this morning. Excitement buzzes through the air as angels get fitted for wings, and the shepherds are gently reminded to not to hook their friends with their staff. These children, led by their wonderful choir director, Mrs. Gloria O’Dell, have been practicing for months to prepare for their first performance. Sets were hand-built by church members, and the stage is set for their performance tomorrow morning. If you attended the Kiwanis Hometown Christmas event last week, you saw a sneak peak of a few of their songs.
Their play, “Miracle on Main Street,” will be performed this Sunday, December 12th at 10:40 am. The entire community is invited to attend. In a heartfelt Christmas tradition known to many of us throughout the years, the FBC Jones Children’s Choir tells the beautiful story of the birth of Christ. The play has 15 children ranging from Pre-K all the way to 6th grade. The culmination of all their hard work is sure to bring delight to everyone in attendance.
